ENDOSCOPIC COLOR ATLAS OF EAR DISEASES – A VALUE ADDITION FOR EVERY STUDENT OF ENT ; PAEDIATRICS AND FAMILY PRACTISE.
Jaypee brothers has started a very good trend of encouraging new talent in medical book publishing. Sparkling example of success of this trend is the present book. The authors; Mubarak Khan and Sapna Parab are young enthusiastic teachers from MIMER Medical college; Talegaon. Both have shown exceptional patience; hard work and maturity in creating this marvellous atlas.
The idea of using nasal endoscope and video recording facility for recording ear pathology is not new and is used by all young practitioners .But the quality of pictures in this book must come through a lot of effort on the technology front.
The authors have painstakingly covered almost all topics of diagnostic otology. Every picture is printed on high quality glossy paper , with meticulous labelling to describe all details .Where ever required ; pictures in different magnifications are provided. This gives insights into intricacies of each pathology.
There is an impressive collection of pictures of every condition. A small introduction has been provided for every topic, which precisely describes the condition .Various forms of a condition of important diseases like cholestetoma , adhesive otitis media are provided for better understanding.
Pictures of foreign bodies will make an interesting and amusing viewing (and perhaps eye openers) even for general population.
Both the authors are worthy of praise for this successful first effort .This kind of work requires a lot of support from the work place and MIMER Medical College and its dignitaries are also worthy of praise for providing it.
